Hello!

I’m Steph, and I’d like to welcome you to Notes on Writing Folklore-Inspired Fiction. My free monthly newsletter explores a variety of folklore topics and provides a behind-the-scenes look at my writing life.

Some areas of interest that I enjoy writing about include:

  • British and Celtic folklore

  • Folktales as a reflection of both folklore and society

  • Folklore in literature and art

  • Nature and folklore

  • Faerie folklore

  • Using folklore and folktales as inspiration for creative writing

In addition to my newsletter, I’m also revising a novel inspired by folklore and working on shorter works in order to send them out to literary magazines. And when I’m not writing, I’m often reading. :)

If you’d like to learn more about me, please check out the About page on my website. You can also follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Bluesky.

Why Subscribe?

Each month we’ll explore a bit of folklore in the newsletter. British and Celtic folklore fascinate me—especially that of Wales. I love the rich, multi-layered aspect of folklore as it combines the customs and traditions of both the people telling the tale and of the supernatural creatures existing within those stories.

My free monthly newsletter also includes personal updates, reports on my work in progress, announcements, and the like. If you enjoy reading folklore-based fiction or nonfiction, then please subscribe. I’d love to have you join me!

Thanks for checking out Notes on Writing Folklore-Inspired Fiction! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.
